 4. Pumpkin Pie:

Add 1 tsp. of this pumpkin pie spice to a typical pumkin pie recipe in place of the spices called for.

Pumpkin Pie is my favorite dessert. I do like chocolate as much as the next gal, but for some reason I can make pumpkin pies like crazy. So it’s something we look forward to all year.

5. Pumpkin Spice Mix:

Use this Spice Mix for all your pumpkin recipes this month. It has worked very well for me. I usually just add one tsp. to any recipe. Mix up a whole shaker and you’ll have it ready to add to pies and more!

How to Make Pumpkin Pie Spice:

4tbsp. Cinnamon
2tbsp. Ginger
1tbsp. Cloves

This makes one shaker full. Have it ready to go for all your pumpkin pies and other pumpkin recipes! Be sure it is well combined then just add 1tsp. to any recipe.

*Use for: Pancakes, Pumpkin or Sweet Potato Pie, Candied Yams, Toppings for Eggnog or Cappuccino, and Granola!

The above watercolor was easy to do. Try painting with watercolor pencils sometime. They are so easy because they are like colored pencils till you add the water.

9. Pumpkin Seeds and Gardening:

Here are some recipes for baking your seeds after carving.  You can try planting some of those seeds in the fall after carving for a carving pumpkin and see what happens. But for a pie pumpkin go to the hardware store in the spring and get the right variety for pie so you can harvest in the fall for making pie.

Plant pumpkins and watch them grow. Study life cycles- many of the above books from #8 follow the life cycle of a pumpkin from seed to carving.
